Investigations on Single Minerals and Synthetic Ash Components for the Enrichment of Copper from Waste Incineration Bottom Ashes by Flotation

چکیده
Currently, MSWI (municipal solid waste incineration) ashes are predominantly landfilled, although they can have copper contents comparable to those of low-grade ores. Based on a previously published characterization MSWI-BA, this paper presents investigations the identification potential collectors for recovery from MSWI-BA by flotation. The studies were conducted with single minerals (mainly oxide and sulfide) synthetic slag components. Collector screening included thiourea-, thiophosphate-, thiocarbamate-based collectors. In addition commercial collector mixtures, pure ureas also examined. At least one representative each group was selected more in-depth studies: thiourea S-n-dodecyle-iso-thiourea hydrochloride, thiophosphate Danaflot 245, AERO 3473, MX-5160 as mixture thiocarbamate thiophosphates. Studies influence concentration pH carried out these. addition, contact angles various metal oxides matrix composition without treatment determined. Subsequently, flotation tests mixtures individual components (quartz, glass, cement, gypsum). proved be most suitable collector, alginic acid added depressant due lack selectivity towards gypsum.

LCA of metal recovery from waste incineration bottom ash
The important role gained by waste incineration in European waste management systems is recently clashing with increasing concerns about loss of resources in waste, i.e. metals. Even though the recovery of valuable resources in residues from waste incineration is becoming a widespread practice, a significant portions of valuables resources remains in the ash and ends up in disposal sites. The g...
متن کاملEXAFS study of copper in waste incineration fly ashes.
Copper species such as CuCO3, Cu(OH)2, CuS and CuO were found in the bag house and EP (electrostatic precipitator) fly ashes of waste incineration processes by X-ray absorption near edge structural (XANES) spectroscopy. A small amount of Cu(I) and metallic Cu was found in the bag house fly ash. The averaged Cu-O bond distance in the fly ashes determined by EXAFS (extended X-ray absorption fine ...

in this study, the chemical characterization of solid residues, i.e., bottom ash, fly ash, and filter cake, produced from the izmit hazardous and Clinical waste incineration Plant (izAyDAS) was investigated. the izAyDAS is located in the city of kocaeli in turkey and it has been in use since 1997. Several parameters were measured, including AoX, Cl-, CN-, So4 2and selected heavy metals includin...
متن کاملDistribution of Chloride in Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Bottom Ash
Chloride content is a critical problem for the reuse of incineration bottom ash as raw material in cement. The effect of dechlorination procedure largely depends on the existence form of the chlorides. However, limited information about the distribution and identity of chlorides in bottom ash can be obtained by bulk analysis methods. In this paper, the investigation towards a more comprehensive...
